The decline of print media 1) Google has lead to the decline of the newspaper industry by taking billions of ad revenue from newspapers. 2) Newspaper companies made about $60 billion and Google took around $44 billion. 3) The 2000's. 4) No, I think that newspapers are a dying industry and Google is no way the cause of it. I would say younger people such as millennials or even generation z aren't really interested in buying newspapers as it is much easier to view a news on the internet rather than buying it physically. Daily Mail case study 1) The front page stories on the September 21st edition of the Daily Mail is a news story about Meghan Markle and the other one is Theresa May trying to get strike a deal which allows the UK to leave the EU. 2) Meghan Markle, EU deal. 3) The front cover has been split into two stories covering Meghan Markle and EU deal. The part that is focusing on Meghan Markle uses a Sans Seriff font and is coloured in purple which has connotations relating to royalty which links to Meghan Markle as she is royalty herself. It also has a picture of Meghan Markle and her mother both appearing to be happy and smiling which gives a positive image towards the both of them. It also shows how the Daily Mail wants the audience to think a certain way when it comes to reading the news story on Meghan Markle as they use positive images which makes the audience think a certain way when reading the news story. Regulation 1) The amount of staff the Leicester Mercury had was 130 journalists. The death of print media 1) 30 years ago, the newspaper industry was successful however 30 years later its starting to decline. 2) The Independent has started to fall prey to the decline in the newspaper industry allowing it to be used further evidence and proof that the print industry is indeed dying. 3) The Independent was famous for supposedly being  " free from political bias, free from proprietorial influence". 4) Evgeny Lebdev states that " the ceasing of a printed version was a bold transition to a digital-only future." 5) Online newspapers make money through adverts in their website. 6) Simon Kelner stated that "For me, the power of the Independent came from  the variety of voices, the originality in its design and the iconoclastic  feel of the paper. It is very difficult to replicate that in digital form. And  it is even more difficult to do that with a paper like the Independent." 7) Fake news can be used by newsp
